Government launches Home Energy saving scheme 100 million in grants.
Homeowners can apply for a grant towards the cost of roof insulation, wall insulation, high efficiency boilers and heating control upgrades. Home owners can also get support for a before and after building energy rating (BER) if they wish.
- How can I apply:
This national scheme is open to all home owners, where you must select a contractor who has registered with s.e.i to carry out works on the scheme. You can register your application by contacting sustainable energy Ireland either by emailing hes@sei.ie or phoning 1850-927-000
- What do the grants cover?:
The grants include insulation upgrades to roofs and walls, including either cavity wall, internal dry-lining or external insulation. They are also available for heating control upgrades and building energy rating assessments.
- How much are the grants?
Insulation grants are fixed for each type of measure as indicated below:
Roof insulation-€250.00
Wall insulation-€400.00
Internal wall dry lining-€2,500.00
External wall insulation-€4000.00
Heating controls/high efficiency gas or oil fired boiler-€700.00
heating controls upgrade-€500.00
Ber assessment-€200.00
- When can I get the work done?
You will need to wait until you have applied for the grant and received approval from sustainable energy Ireland. Grant approval must be in place prior to any purchase of materials or commencement of works is undertaken.
